Abstract

The impendency demands for the excellent wear resistance materials are blossoming as the increasing possibilities of complex application environments. Poly (ether ether ketone) (PEEK) is regarded as a promising candidate for its outstanding mechanical properties and remarkable thermal stability. Herein, a feasible strategy is proposed to obtain hydroxylated boron nitride (BNO) grafted carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Then, introduce the as- prepared reinforcements into the matrix to fabricate the BNO-CNT/PEEK composites. The incorporation of BNO-CNT significantly increases the nano- hardness and elastic modulus of composites. The interfacial interactions between components promote the synergistic enhancement effects, ultimately increasing the thermal conductivity and tribological performance of composites. The coefficient of friction and wear rate remarkably decline with the introduction of 3 wt% BNO-CNT. Thus, this facile approach demonstrates its potential for improving tribological properties in PEEK composites.
