Abstract

In the paper, the new porphyrin dimer ligand and copper complex were synthesized directly by the bridge of L-glutamic acid, with their structure confirmed by the mass spectra (FAB), FT-IR spectra, elemental analysis, UV-Vis spectra and so on. The CD spectra, Raman spectra and fluorescence spectra of the porphyrin ligand and copper complex were investigated, and the results showed that there was no split cotton effect in the CD spectra of the ligand, however, there was negative and positive Cotton effect in the CD spectra of the copper complex, the fluorescence intensity of ligand was stronger than that of the copper complex in the fluorescence spectra, while in the Raman, there was great difference between the dimer ligand and the copper complex due to changes of the symmetry of porphyrin plane and electron effect of the d orbits of the copper ion.
