Abstract
(Ca0.9Yb0.1C)3C9/Ag polyerystalline samples were prepared by a polyacrylamide gel method followed by a Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS) technique. Thermoelectic properties of (Ca 0.9Yb0.1C)3C9/Ag ceramics were studied at room temperature. The results indicate that Ag particles are dispersed in the Ca3Co4O9 matrix as the second phase. The Ag particles with around 0.1 μ are dispersed homogeneously in the Ca3Co4O9 matrix. The relative densities of the SPS samples are all above 99%, and the electrical conductivity increases with the increase of Ag. Though the addition of Ag decreases the Seebeck coefficient, the power factor of Ag composites is improved due to the obvious increase of electrical conductivity.
