Abstract

In the ultrasonic cutting process, the cutting pressure is still essential for achieving a good quality cut edge compared with traditional mechanical cutting process. With the increase of the cutting power, the cutting pressure demand decreases. The cutting velocity range is extended broadly. The experiment results show that the ultrasonic cutting technique is an effective, clean and controllable method for machining carbon fibre prepreg.
