Abstract

There is currently no integrated safety analysis method established for nuclear ships. This study will conduct preliminary research on integrated safety analysis methods based on the characteristics of nuclear ships. By comparing and analyzing the safety analysis methods of existing conventional powered ships, on-land fixed nuclear facilities, and nuclear merchant ships, a comprehensive safety analysis framework for nuclear ships is proposed, and the challenges faced in conducting integrated safety analysis are summarized. On this basis, a detailed analysis is conducted on condition classification of nuclear ships. A preliminary qualitative criterion for the classification of conditions for nuclear ships based on consequence class has been proposed. The preliminary integrated safety analysis method proposed in this study will lay the foundation for the safety analysis and design optimization of nuclear ships.
