Preliminary exploration on low-carbon strategy of large urban public art design

Abstract

With introduction of technologies such as sound, light and electricity, the energy consumption of urban public arts is increasing day by day, and it's especially notable of large public arts. This paper analyzes domestic large public art creation development situation, and main concern lies on aspects such as waste of energy and materials, lack of consideration of energy conservation and low carbon, and lack of related management measures about low-carbon issue. Aiming at domestic low-carbon construction strategic demands, we propose several strategies on domestic large urban public art design and technology application, including guidance of low-carbon theme arts, application of new technologies and new materials, and configuration requirements on environment. This paper also proposes low-carbon development management measures of large urban public arts, including formulation of related regulations and rules and public participation.
