Abstract
A new joining method, pre-friction diffusion hybrid bonding, was proposed to achieve a BMG/BMG joint without macroscopic deformation. This method employed the pre-friction process to break the oxide film of BMG specimens. The average shear strength of joints bonded by this method was 194.38 MPa, which is much higher than the conventional diffusion bonding. No observable crystallization was detected by MF-XRD and TEM. This novel joining method provided a feasible route for the high-quality solid-state bonding of materials with surface oxide film.
