Power supply for ultrasonic motor applicable to EDM

Abstract

In order to eliminate higher harmonics embedded driving signal in miniaturized EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) system, matching circuit for ultrasonic generator has been carried out. The auto-frequency tracking has been accomplished in order that the motor work on resonant or quasi-resonant frequency. The test of the whole system has been fulfilled. The results demonstrate that the employment is very effective for enhancing machining efficiency and quality.
