Abstract

Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) is regarded as sustainable biomass energy. Microorganisms will generate electrical energy during wastewater treatment, fuels are widespread in daily life and the reaction conditions are moderate. Harvesting energy from MFCs is of great significance, but a low power output from MFC is a great challenge for the actual application. This paper designs a power management system for microbial fuel cells. The electrical energy is stored in super-capacitors and the voltage is boosted to power the load. The system realizes the application of microbial fuel cells.
