Abstract
To improve the performance of electric vehicle, a power management system is proposed and realized in this paper. Solar panel, super capacitor and battery are combined together as the power system of electric vehicle. The solar panel can help reduce the energy consumption of the vehicle and the super capacitor can provide better dynamic performance to the vehicle. To manage the power flow from these three resources, a control strategy based on fuzzy control theory is designed. The result of experiment shows that this power management system is efficient. It also can cut down the instantaneous current of battery to prolong its longevity. So this system is suitable as the power system of electric vehicle and can be widely extended and applied.
