Abstract

The concept of unmanned operation of small hydroelectric power plants is proposed in this paper. This concept ensures unconditional compliance with all applicable requirements of regulatory and technical documentation governing the operation of hydroelectric power plants. The assessment of technical feasibility (taking into account the current and prospective level of technology development) and risks (taking into account previously identified limitations and barriers), as well as possible consequences of the implementation of the concept: economic (in terms of the impact on operating costs), social (in terms of the impact on the availability of labor resources, the impact on the level of employment etc.), technical (in terms of the impact on the reliability of facilities and power supply to consumers), is also carried out. It was made a conclusion about the possibility of implementing this concept from the point of view of ensuring its information security.
