Abstract

So far, the aetiology and pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases have not been fully clarified. With the advent of an ageing society, the neutral prevalence rate of degenerative diseases of the nervous system is increasing year by year. In the treatment of neurodegenerative disease, common drug treatment methods always work with large side effects and high costs and are prone to drug resistance, resulting in a decline in long-term drug efficacy. China has a vast territory, rich plant resources, and a long history of plant medicine. Through classical traditional Chinese medicine works and modern scientific research, the characteristic plant resources and commercially grown plants in China have the ability to treat or improve neurodegenerative diseases. This chapter summarizes some of the research achievements, hoping to share these results and to discuss them with global colleagues.
