Abstract

Microtubular cavities, which are self-assembled from prestrained nanomembranes, can support optical whisperinggallery mode (WGM) resonances via light circulating in the tube wall. By coating plasmonic nanosturctures onto the microcavity surfaces, photon-plasmon coupling were investigated relying on the interaction of WGM resonant modes and surface plasmon resonances, which leads to many novel phenomena on optical tuning and potential applications. As a novel platform, our microtubular cavities imply promising applications for enhanced light-matter interactions, optical tuning, photonic integration and quantum optics.
