Abstract

This paper proposes a kind of polarization phased array guidance radar on the missile and its polarization filtering method. For the proposed radar, the linear frequency modulation (LFM) pulse compression signal with single polarization is used as the transmitted signal and the performance of the low probability of intercept (LPI) is improved. The radar echo signal is received simultaneously through two orthogonal polarization channels and the polarization information of the echo signal can be obtained. For the high range resolution signal after pulse compression, the integration method of instantaneous polarization estimation, polarization-vector translation and polarization vector filtering is adopted to suppress the interference. The advantage of this method is that it can suppress the interference which is in the same range and space angle resolution cell, and solve the hard problem of suppression of angle deception interference. The validity of interference suppression method through polarization filtering are indicated through theoretical analysis and simulation. The research results have guidance significance for developing the practical radar systems on missiles.
