Abstract
Ti-Al cladding on Ti6Al4V surface was prepared by hot-dip method and thermal diffusion treatment for specimen was carried out at 1100 ℃. The test results show that after two process above, a three-layer structure containing surface oxide layer, transition layer and matrix are formed on the specimen. The thickness of surface oxide layer and transition layer increase with the prolong of diffusion time. The main phases of surface oxide layer are Al2O3 and TiO2 while the main phases of the transition layer are TiAl3, Ti2Al5 and Ti19Al6 intermetallic compounds.
