P2P-based Grid Monitoring system (PGMS), based on peer-to-peer technology and GMA specification, is designed to monitor large scale and dynamically changed Grid system. In PGMS, the function of directory service is achieved by the P2P-based Grid Distributed Directory Service (PGDDS); in this way, a whole directory service is decentralized into some associated directory services that are peer-to-peer. Universal Resource Description Word (URDW) is a resource description method that adopts the thinking of quantifying and coding, and reduces the storage and communication overhead of resource description information.",
