Abstract

An information system formed by high altitude platform (HAP) is a new generation system for the wireless communications and HAPS (HAP Station), which combines the advantages of both terrestrial and satellite communication systems and avoids their disadvantages in some extents. It has been identified as a promising communication style in the field of telecommunication and an effective complement to the existing communication system. This paper focuses on coverage performance, wireless link performance, multiple spot beam cell partition scheme and power control for HAPS communication. A new cell partition scheme is proposed for HAPS communication scenario. By numerical calculation and computer simulated analysis, the wireless link performance and appropriate scenario is proposed for cell partition scheme. The work can be referenced to the engineering realization of HAPS communication system.
