Abstract
In ultra-wideband (UWB) system, it is difficult to realize the ideal power control by using existing hardwires, which degrades the performance of UWB systems. Thus a model for the analysis on the performance of UWB system under imperfect power control is proposed, and the average bit error rate (BER) of the UWB systems is obtained. Moreover, the average BER under imperfect and perfect power control is compared. Results show that the difference between these two systems concerning the average of probability error increases with the increase of the transmission attenuation, the number of users as well as the transmission data rate. For each system parameter, the upper bound of transmission data rate decreases with the increasing number of users, and the decreasing rate gets lower and lower.
