Abstract
The made investigations of secondary-emission effects in devices of the M-type of the inverse design show that considerable heat losses are caused by high energy of the particle flight to the cathode. This energy corresponds to the descending branch of the secondary emission curve and exceeds the particle flight energy in the usual design device more than an order of value. Therefore, in the choice of cathode material in inverse devices, one needs to take into account the value of second critical potential.
