Abstract
The signal model of 2-D ADBF at subarray level suitable for any planar phased array is presented. 2-D ADBF at subarray level based on mismatched optimum detector is studied which is a modification for conventional 2-D ADBF at subarray level. By introducing a mismatched steering vector, this method achieves the desired quiescent pattern in the absence of jammer, thereby the conversion problem between adaptive and non-adaptive work modes of ADBF is resolved. On the other hand, it improves the sidelobe level markedly compared with the conventional method in the presence of jammer. The method based on mismatched optimum detector is suitable for both non-overlapped and overlapped subarrays and overcomes the limitation that the method based on normalization processing only suits non-overlapped subarrays. Simulation results indicate the validity of the introduced method.
