Abstract
Passive Terahertz imaging technology (PTIT) is one of the emerging technologies that have the potential to change our life. It has been applied in a wide range of fields such as security inspection, defog camera, biology, and medicine. Considering the characteristic of Terahertz radiation from the human body, clothing, environment, and hidden object, we studied the theory of passive Terahertz imaging and built the prototype operating in W-band for security inspection which can achieve high spatial resolution up to 8mm with linear polarization. The system is designed with the detectors positioned in a vertical column looking within an objective height of 0.8m(H)× 2m(V) with mechanical scanning of the whole system around the vertical axis. Besides, we conclude the future development of PTIT in fog transmission and medical applications.
