Abstract

The partitioning of 13 kinds of representative endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) between liquid and solid phases of wastewaters in a sewage treatment plant (STP) were studied. It was found that almost all EDCs' partition coefficients (Dp) between aquatic and solid phases have been observed to have a negative relationship with the concentrations of suspended solids (SS) and dissolved organic carbon (DOC). While the effect of octanol/water partition coefficient (Aow) and solubility on D p is minimal. It seems that DOC and SS play important roles on the fate and transport of these EDCs in STPs.
