Abstract
A new type of observer for descriptor linear systems, proportional multiple-integral derivative (PMID) observers, is proposed in this paper. A parametric design approach for such observer is established. The proposed approach gives the complete parameterizations for all the observer gain matrices, realizes the elimination of impulsive behaviors, and guarantees the regularity of the observer systems. A numerical example is provided to show the design procedure and illustrate the effectiveness of the presented approach.
