Parameter Identified for Energy Storage Based on Terminal Sliding Mode Control

Abstract

Recently, serious cyclical energy shortages have occurred in the global energy market, adjusting the existing energy structure has become the solution, and PV generation plays an important role in the renewable power system. But PV is a random system, it is necessary to add some battery energy storage system (BESS) to guarantee the system is safe and stable. The parameters in the BESS is the key part in the control. The paper adopts the sliding mode control (SMC) to design a terminal SMC observer to estimate the state of BESS, and can obtain the state of charging and recharging, to improve the safety of PV system. The simulation results verified the proposed method is effective.
