Abstract
U-shape single phase permanent magnet motor is widely used in small domestic appliances but the research on the theory of this motor is rarely undertaken. Stator inductance, PM flux linking and reluctance torque are calculated by the 2D finite element method in this paper. The differential equations which describe the dynamic behavior of the motor are solved numerically by Matlab/Simulink. The calculation results indicate that the value is close to the measured value, the rotor speed fluctuates around the synchronous speed and the rotation direction of rotor is influenced by parameters of the motor.
