Abstract

The definition and classification of MPR (Multi-Pulse Rectifier) are presented. According to the difference of phase-shift transformer, three kinds of MPR are analyzed: 12-, 24-and 36-pulse rectifier. The DC-side harmonic suppression of MPR is reviewed, the methods to improve the performance of multi-pulse AC-DC converter are discussed and the influence of load is analyzed. Some fields for future research are prospected and the key points in the application of MPR are analyzed particularly.
