Abstract
A new bathing wastewater reclamation process, which employs IBAC (immobilized biological activated carbon) reactor as its key part, is introduced. Using this process, the effluent turbidity, permanganate index, LAS (linear alkylbenzene sulfonate) and odor average level of the treated water are 2.46 NTU, 3.2 mg/L, 0.13 mg/L and odorless respectively. On condition that the turbidity of the influent water is less than 10 NTU, the effluent quality of the treatment process meets the Sanitary Standard for Drinking. GC/MS analysis proves that the IBAC reactor has excellent organic pollutants removal ability in this experiment. After 10 months of continuous operation, the engineering bacteria remains dominant within the IBAC reactor, and the activated carbon still keeps high iodine number and methylene blue adsorption. It is likely that the biodegradation function of engineering bacteria presents main contribution to the organic pollutants removal ability in the IBAC reactor, while the adsorption ability of activated carbon helps.
