Abstract

Ultra wideband communication system based on impulse (IR-UWB) carries information via pulse trains. The performance, complexity and spectrum utilizing efficiency of such system are determined by the characteristics of pulse. According to the criterion of signal design in communication system, an optimum orthogonal pulse which named PSWF is designed for IR-UWB communication system. The orthogonal pulse is not only completed but also flexible in spectrum control. With the pulse, an IR-UWB system located at any central frequency with any bandwidth which meets the FCC's definition can be designed. Another IR-UWB system with a controllable notch frequency can be also designed with it. This method offers a practicable solution to narrow interference suppression and spectrum coexistence.
