Optimization strategy for narrow pulse in selective harmonic elimination inverter

Abstract

Theoretically selective harmonic elimination inverter can eliminate harmonic effectively. However, hardware realization is difficult due to narrow pulse in output voltage waveform. According to the requirement of on-off time of power device, this paper proposes an optimization strategy by combining the narrow pulse of widening couple of switch angles and omitting couple of switch angles. Theoretical analysis and calculation result show that the proposed optimization strategy can greatly reduce the difficulty in hardware realization, switching loss of power device and the total harmonic distortion. Thus it provides an effective method for the application of selective harmonic elimination inverter.
