Optimization configuration for capacity of energy storage system in large-scale wind farm

Abstract

The proportion of wind power in the grid increases rapidly as the capacity of wind farm increases. Wind power generation is not stable and cannot supply constant electrical output, which challenges the attempt to integrate large-scale wind power scheme into grids. According to one year statistical data, we put forward a design scheme and a control method for the energy storage system in a large-scale wind farm in Zhejiang province. To maintain feasible grid operation, energy supply and demand must be kept in balance at all times. Finally, we optimized the capacity of energy storage system in large scale wind farm.
