Abstract

In this paper, an optimal selection method of gyroscope groups based on dedicated observer scheme and extended Kalman filter is proposed. According to the measurements of star sensors and gyroscopes, an extended Kalman filter is designed by the satellite attitude kinematic equation to estimate the attitude and generate the system residual. In addition, multiple sets of filters are built based on the redundancy of the gyroscope hardware. Three heads with the smallest error are selected to calculate the angular velocity of the satellite, achieving high-precision attitude determination. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
