Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the optimal placement of piezoelectric sensor/actuator for active vibration control of smart structure. Base on the state space equation and the controllability/observability Grammian matrix, the optimal target was given by minimize the control energy and maximize the sensitive energy. The genetic algorism was used for optimal computation. The placements of sensor/actuator were defined with binary coding. A piezoelectric plate has been simulated to attest the optimal method. Validity has been proved because it obtained the same result for optimal method calculation and enumerate method calculation.
