Abstract

Against poor stability issue of classical control of microturbine, overall operating condition stable state feedback control strategy and fixed attenuation state observer were proposed. Accurate microturbine nonlinear mathematical model was established, which reflects efficiency and flow characteristics of compressor and turbine in microturbine under all operating conditions through the analytical method. Using the efficiency law of microturbine affected by speed, the optimal efficiency variable speed operation mode of microturbine was put forward. The model was piecewise linearized using this operation mode and the state feedback controller was designed to ensure the stability for all operating conditions. In order to estimate the unmeasured state variables the fixed attenuation characteristics state observer was designed. Simulation results show that the proposed model is in good agreement with Capstone C30 data, the system has strong robust stability under all operating conditions, and observer error is smaller.
