Abstract

We report on the optical bistability of Ho:LLF laser. In the free-running state, we observe the bistable phenomenon at 2053 nm and 2066 nm respectively with the bis-table region widths of 1.2 W and 2.5 W, respectively. By rotating the Ho:LLF crystal, we realize the simultaneous output of orthogonally polarized dual wavelengths at 2053 nm and 2066 nm and the optical bistability is obvious, with bistable region widths of 1.4 W. The optical bistability of lasers is an important technology for the realization of optical logic gates, optical switches, and optical storage. The potential application value based on optical bistability has also attracted a large number of scholars to further explore the research.
