On the constant resonance width approximation for core electron ionization

Abstract

The validity of the constant resonance width approximation is explored for the core-ionized state of water. It is shown that almost all of the nuclear variation for the total lifetime of this state takes place at internuclear distances inside the ground-state equilibrium distance.
