N2 - Functional controllability, as a newly proposed concept, is closely related to output controllability. This paper first explores the relationship between functional controllability and output controllability. Next, new criteria for output controllability of a class of special systems are introduced. Moreover, a geometric characterization of the existence conditions for target output controllers in the generalized principle is presented. This provides new insights into both the construction and the existence of the augmented matrix. Finally, numerical examples are provided to illustrate the construction of the augmented matrix.
