Abstract

The soft x-ray amplification in Ne-like Ar at 46.9nm has been achieved at Harbin Institute of Technology. A Blumlein transmission line is used as fast pulse forming line. Only when intrinsic pre-pulse of 5kA is eliminated and proper pre-pulse are adopted, the uniform plasma could be formed and lasing in Ne-like Ar at 46.9nm are obtained. The plasma columns are pumped by a 28-36kA current pulse with 80ns half-cycle duration in a 3.1 mm-diameter and 12cm-length capillary channels filled with Ar in the region of 20-50Pa. The output pulse energy of the laser is about 3 μJ and the pulse duration is 2ns.
