Abstract

Aerodynamic model of the simulated aircraft is an important part in a flight simulator, for it reflects the aerodynamic character directly. It contains numerous aerodynamic data and complex logical operations which need to be handled. Because of the unique features of object-oriented design principles and the advantages of MATLAB in rapid real-time simulation, an aerodynamic model written in C++ was realized and it was successfully applied through S-function in a PC-based flight simulator. This not only made the program structural, transplantable and convenient to maintain for different aircraft types, but also added experiences for the design of flight simulation's software framework in future.
