Abstract

In order to understand the main factors influencing the lift characteristic of aft section of underwater supercavitating bodies and to provide some reference information for the stability of trajectory as well as the validity of control, three-dimensional gas-liquid numerical simulations based on homogeneous multiphase model have been carried out for a fore supported model, which was tested in a water tunnel. It is found that the lift characteristic of aft section of supercavitating bodies can be simulated qualitatively by using the homogeneous multiphase model, using SST turbulence model is better than k-ε model and the attack angle of the body and the inflow velocity are important factors that influencing the lift of aft body.
