Numerical simulation of microwave gas discharge switch of S-band Microwave Pulse compressor with trigatron ignition

Abstract

This report presents the results of 3D numerical simulation of the switching process in microwave gas discharge H-tee switch of S-band as an energy output switch of high-power microwave pulse compressor at high-power level. The process of energy extract from the resonator was simulated using a trigatron at different levels of applied voltages and the shape of the applied pulse front. The results of switching process simulation will allow to increase gain of the compressor [1].
