Abstract
The unsteady flow field of a single stage axial transonic compressor at a design point was simulated numerically, and an in-depth analysis of rotor-stator interaction was performed. Moreover, the influences of upstream wakes and potential effects on downstream blade loading distributions were investigated extensively. The results indicate that, under stage environment, upstream wakes have obvious influences on generation, evolution and transportation of flow losses, and also on loading distributions of downstream blade. Therefore, consideration shall be given to this effect in the design of turbomachinery.
