Numerical research on dynamic response of underwater vehicles in the vertical tube-exit stage

Abstract

In the launching stage, the vehicle runs from the tube into the water above. This is a nonlinear and time-varying coupling process of water, structure and gas. This article aims at the dynamic response of the underwater vehicle in the vertical tube-exit stage. According to experimental pressure values on measuring points, the hydrodynamic pressure distribution on the vehicle's surface is determined by Cosine Hypothesis. By LS-DYNA, the vehicle's FEM model is built, and the hydrodynamic pressure is applied on the model. With numerical simulation, its dynamic response is obtained.
