Abstract
With the development of electromagnetic forming (EMF) process, the rigorous numerical modeling capabilities are needed to predict the forming process and used to instruct the forming system design. The existing numerical modeling methods of EMF and their characteristics are presented, and the questions in the modeling and the challenges to it are discussed. The software ANSY is used to carry out a numerical simulation of the electromagnetic tube-compression forming of aluminum alloy. And the uniform deformation of the tubes is explored. The simulation results of electromagnetic tube-compression forming are validated with the profile of the deformed tubes in experiments.
