Abstract
According to the special structure of tractive PMSM for elevator, in this paper the mathematical model of the 3D transient temperature field for the motor in the state of steady electromagnetic field is established, and basic assumptions and boundary conditions of the solved region are presented. Stator iron losses and magnet pole eddy current losses are calculated according to the electromagnetic field analysis. A type of tractive PMSM for elevator is taken for example, the stator and rotor transient temperature field is calculated using 3D finite element method in the rated electromagnetic field condition, and the short-time over load temperature rise is also analyzed. Measurement results show that the transient temperature field calculation model is reasonable.
