Abstract
The effects of part manufacturing error on the vortex torque of the externally pressurized gas journal-thrust bearings with slot restrictors were studied by finite element method, including the influences of slot width error and shaft surface roundness error, as well as the effects of installation angle and eccentricity of journal. Predicted characteristics are in good agreement with experimental results. Research results have great significance for the design, assembly optimization and performance prediction of gas bearings.
