Abstract

Discrete element of complex tooth surface is acquired, using moving least square method (MLSM) tooth surface reconstruction is done. The reconstructive tooth surface can substitute for original complex tooth surface in contact region analysis by numerical method. The bi-search technique is applied to search the contact area, this method is efficient and advanced. Program is compiled to analyze the contact region of non-involutes beveled gears and involutes enveloping hourglass worm gear. The analysis result proves that the non-involutes beveled gears can realize linear contact in the spatial meshing state and the involutes enveloping hourglass worm gear has high carrying capacity. The numerical analysis result is compared with FEA analysis result and experimental result which proves the numerical method is precise and practical.
