Abstract

An miniaturized antenna structure with an equiangular spiral line at the origin and an Archimedean spiral line at the terminal are proposed in this paper. The characteristic of the equiangular spiral antenna at low frequency is improved, and the shortcomings of the Archimedean spiral antenna, such as the large transmission loss and the inefficiency due to the long arms, are overcome. A parallel-line broadband bulun which is suitable for one-direction radiation is also designed by microstrip. The simulation and test results indicate that the impedance characteristics of the proposed antenna at low frequency are better than the equiangular spiral and Archimedean spiral antenna of the same size, and it has better pattern and circular polarization characteristics.
