Abstract

The Range Doppler (RD) method is a widely used technique in inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging. However, it suffers from the drawbacks of high side lobes and wide main-lobe, and thus the imaging performance will be degraded. In this paper, we propose a novel high resolution ISAR imaging method via the two-dimensional unitary matrix pencil technique to mitigate these aforementioned problems. Experimental results based on the simulated and raw data demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
