Novel lunar lander with magnetic damping of eddy current

Abstract

Focused on the vacuum cold welding of friction damping materials of the lunar lander with three legs, the analysis and experiment were carried out for the application of non-contact magnetic damping of eddy current to lunar lander. Elementary characteristics of the magnetic damping of eddy current were analyzed and fundamental equations of the damping characteristics were obtained by means of electromagnetics elementary theory. Buffer characteristics of the principle models of the novel lunar lander with magnetic damping of eddy current were tested by means of the DASP software to collect and analyze data. The results show that the buffer effectiveness is very good for the novel lunar lander with magnetic damping of eddy current.
