Abstract

For the purpose of fault diagnosis in satellite attitude control system, the fault symptoms of sensor output signals should be determined at first. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) can be employed to decompose the output signals and the fault symptoms can be concluded. The power of Empirical mode decomposition lies on its automatic and adaptive signal decomposition ability and its decomposition results have clear physical meanings. Simulation results indicate that the application of empirical mode decomposition to signal feature extraction and fault diagnosis is feasible.
